"In their ability to match a look and a budget, Signature Kitchens is unrivaled." - Sonny Bonacio, owner of Bonacio Construction, Saratoga Springs , New York
Design Process

Your needs, tastes and priorities determine the ingredients for your new kitchen. Signature Kitchens of Saratoga creates the feast and lays the banquet. We listen, observe and, in turn, craft your longings into realization. Where needed we:

  • Remove confusion.
  • Add detail.
  • Finesse around obstructions.
  • Present innovations.
  • Bring your dream to life in a happy marriage of form and function.

Appetizer : Your Wish List
Your wish list is your pantry of favorite ingredients. To build your list, consider these ideas:

  • Stash clippings from home décor magazines, newspapers, web sites, brochures or real estate guides in a file or scrapbook.
  • Include images and descriptions of elements you like, as well as those you do not.
  • Bring your camera to home tours and home shows to snap shots of favorite elements.
  • Think beyond the kitchen as you thumb through idea books, even gardens or staircases can hold tempting ideas.
  • Do not overlook lighting, ceiling and general architectural elements that pique your interest.
  • Save samples, such as tile, fabric, paint chips and wood stains.
  • Ask all family members to add to and comment on the wish list.

First Course: Your Initial Studio Visit
A kitchen suited to you begins with you. Bring your wish list (including material samples), pull up a chair and share your thoughts. We answer your questions and ask some ourselves.

Together we’ll explore:

  • How you use your kitchen
  • Your favorite appliance
  • How often you shop
  • How you cook and entertain

You will also cover more unusual fare, such as:

  • What's in your grocery cart
  • The height of the primary cook
  • The special characteristics of your pets
  • Where you sort your junk mail

Your first studio visit also allows you to see, feel and hold a variety of finishes, accent pieces and countertops. "A well-chosen finish can help take a cabinet or simple table from a piece of wood to a work of art," says Bannon.

Intermezzo: Signature Kitchens Visits Your Home or Building Site
Signature Kitchens takes note of your home's setting, its style and flow and, most importantly, its broader architectural elements. "I like to take architectural elements from the outside and bring them inside," says Bannon. From shingles to siding, your home's most notable exterior characteristics may find themselves in ceiling details, recessed moldings and color.

During this visit:

  • Exact measurements are taken, including equipment to be stored.
  • Electrical lines are traced.
  • Ventilation systems are investigated.

If limitations are imposed by an historic trust, these will also be reviewed.

Entrée: You Review the Design Plans
The main dish has arrived! You may wish to alter the seasonings, make inquiries, or asses a change in direction. Signature Kitchens understands this. We also know how to retain your design's most artful accents at a price you can live with.

Once your design renderings meet your satisfaction, we begin the process of casting your design into a working or "construction" drawing.
Now, with your draft perspectives, elevations, floor plans and pricing on the table, your new kitchen is on route to realization.

Dessert: Your Finish Schedule is Set
Your order is placed! Signature Kitchens offers complete installation, or we make arrangements with your architect, builder or designer to coordinate installation.

Signature Kitchens escorts your finish schedule right through the punch list finale. We make sure every detail you want is checked, every appetite satiated, bringing you happily to the moment you've been waiting for: Your signature kitchen.
